DANI YOUNG WINS GRANT FOR SYDNEY LAUNCH SHOW

Country singer Dani Young has been awarded the Play The City grant by the NSW Government to launch her new single ‘Alibi’.

Young is amongst 39 recipients, including the Museum of Contemporary Art and Bell Shakespeare’s theatre company, with the grants aimed at rebuilding visitor numbers to Sydney CBD following the pandemic.

2021 has been a successful year for Dani Young, after writing and recording a song for the internationally awarded film ‘Stille Nacht’, now streaming on SBS on Demand, and featuring on a charity single for Drought Angels alongside legendary guitarist Albert Lee and 70s pop star Marty Rhone.

In March last year, only 4 shows into an interstate tour, lockdowns forced Young to abandon concerts and festival appearances.

As a result of the grant, Dani Young will present her sultry new single ‘Alibi’ to a hometown crowd with a free launch show at Foundry 616 in Ultimo on Sunday June 20.

Described sonically as “James Bond stars in a Spaghetti Western film”, ‘Alibi’ is about recognising the deceptive tactics of a manipulative partner, and the song is dripping in attitude.

‘Alibi’ will be released on all digital platforms on June 18.
